　　As a foreigner already living in China, declaring or updating registration of temporary residence can sometimes be troublesome, especially when you travel a lot or take business trips frequently. Well, things are much easier now since this May, if you live in Yantai.

　　对于已经生活在中国的外国人，申报或变更 “外国人住宿登记”这事儿有时确实有那么点小麻烦，尤其是如果你超爱旅行又或者频繁出差的话。不过，要是你生活在烟台，从今年五月开始这件“小事”就已经变得方便多啦。

　　A brand-new self-service declaration system developed by Yantai Public Security Bureau is initialed since 1 May 2025, which allows you to register online with several simple clicks.

　　来来来，由烟台市公安局新研发的自助申报系统从五月一号起，能让大家在线实现“登记”自由！　

　　What you need to do first is to follow Yantai Gong An or Yantai Gong An Exit&Entry Administration on WeChat——we’ll type the characters out in the comment section for you to copy and paste. If you are not proficient in typing Chinese characters yet, we’ve got you covered!

　　首先你需要做的，就是微信关注“烟台公安”或者“烟台公安出入境”公众号。

　　我会把汉字直接在评论区打出来，方便你们复制和粘贴。如果你的中文打字水平还有待进步，可以??先在评论区抄下作业哦！

　　Next, find the button at the bottom left to enter Wei Jing Wu mini app, choose “Online Exit&Entry” among all the popular services, scroll down, you will easily spot the service you want, since it’s the only bilingual option, just go ahead and hit the click.

　　关注成功后，通过界面左下方的“微警务”，在“热门服务”里点击“掌上出入境”，就能轻松发现所需服务！没错，这个双语选项还是很明显的，别犹豫，直接点进去。　　

　　If you are new to this app, you need to register with your passport info and set a password.

　　首次使用的用户在进入后选择“立即注册”，使用本人护照信息并设置登录密码来完成这一步骤。　　

　　When you log in for the first time, an info verification is a must. Choose “Mine “at the bottom right for verification. Click the red sentence which says “not verified yet” to proceed. Find the OCR button, choose “Take a Photo” to take a clear picture of your passport’s ID page. Once you passed the verification, the app will automatically redirect to another page for you to double-check all the information. After making sure everything is accurate, click the declaration button. Your information is now verified and linked to your account.

　　首次登录系统，必须完成“实证”认证。点击界面右下角“我的”，进入个人信息绑定界面，点击屏幕中红色的“未实名认证”提示，进入下一步操作。继续点击屏幕中OCR，选择“拍照”，对准护照资料页拍一张清晰完整的照片。系统完成识别后，会自动跳转到“实名认证信息绑定”页面，在核对识别信息准确无误后，点击“提交申报”，个人信息就完成绑定啦。　

　　Also, you are able to help family members to register under the “family member information verification”. For each adult, one adult family member and 5 under-age family members at most can be added to the account.

　　如果你还需为家庭成员代为申报，就在“家庭成员信息绑定页面”绑定成员信息即可，每个账号下可绑定1名成年家庭成员和不超过5名未成年家庭成员。　　

　　I know it seems a lot of steps to follow, if it’s your first time to use this app. However spend 5-10 minutes this time to get account registered and ready, you’ll save much more time and energy in the future, trust me.

　　我知道对初次使用这项服务的朋友而言，看上去有不少步骤要照做；不过只要这次花个5-10分钟准确注册信息，未来将会省下超多时间和精力，相信我！　　

　　Finally, the account is set and ready, just go to the “Declare Temporary Residence” page, click “File for a Registration” to start the process. The system will pop up a reminder to ask for an access to your location. Choose “Allow” to redirect to a page where you can fill out entry information. Then click “Submit Declaration” and you are good to go! If a family member needs your help, simply repeat the process for them on the “Declare for a Family Member” page.

　　终于，我们账号注册完成后，就可以正式进入“申报住宿登记”页面，点击“住宿登记申报”开始本人申报。对系统弹出的“通过微信申请获取你的位置权限”提醒，一定要选择“允许”。进入“入境信息”填写页面，根据提示填写，点击“提交申报”完成申报；为家庭成员代办申报的，在“家庭成员申报”页面重复上述操作就OK。
